Wa West NDC constituency donates 25 bags of maize , GH¢5000.00 to support Akosombo dam flood victims

In solidarity, the National Democracy Congress -NDC fraternity in the Wa West constituency in the Upper West Region  has come together to  support the victims of the devastating flood caused by the Akosombo Dam spillage.

The flood has left over 26,000 people homeless in the Volta Region, Oti Region, and parts of the Eastern Region.

On Sunday, 29th October 2023, the constituency executives, along with the Member of Parliament, handed over 25 bags of maize and ¢5000.00 to the Upper West Regional executives.

During the presentation ceremony held at Grand Hayate Hostel in Wa, the Constituency Chairman, Hon. Mathew Vaar, emphasized the urgent need to support their brothers and sisters in the Volta Region who have been severely affected by the disaster.

"This is a timely call for assistance. The flood has caused immense devastation, and the Wa West constituency feels compelled to respond quickly to the needs of the victims. We have already mobilized a significant number of bags of maize, and other wards of the NDC are still contributing. 

He added that are likely to gather around 50 bags of maize in total to support the victims. 

The Regional Organizer Mr. Thomas Saad Ngminbahaara who received the donation on behalf of the Regional Chairman Abdul Nasir Saani has recognized the donation as one of the most significant contributions thus far in the region and expressed their gratitude to the Wa West constituency executives for their generous contribution. he mentioned that while other constituencies in the region are also contributing monetary support, wa west has made physical donation, this he said is recommendable.

                       

however, the Member of Parliament for Wa West Hon. Peter lanchene Toobu has also amplified the call for supporting the flood victims and donated ¢5000.00 towards the cause. He urged all NDC executives to remain resolute in their support for the flood victims and expressed confidence that the NDC party will emerge victorious in the 2024 elections to rescue Ghanaians
